Flash Serial Flux CAN Firmware
Connect a supported STM32F072C8 CAN interface in the STM32 USB DFU bootloader and program it with Serial Flux CAN firmware. Serial Flux uses one CAN firmware protocol, but a particular device may have more than one hardware-specific firmware build when board revisions use different GPIO pins for status/activity LEDs.
1. Put the CAN adapter into DFU mode
- Disconnect the USB cable.
- Set the device's BOOT jumper/button as required by that hardware revision, or otherwise place BOOT/BOOT0 in the bootloader state.
- Reconnect USB while the device is in the bootloader state.
- The device should enumerate as an STM32 DFU device rather than as its normal CAN interface.
2. Select the firmware build
Development mode: select the Serial Flux firmware build that matches the device and hardware revision. Before production, this page can present the appropriate supported build(s) for the selected device so customers do not have to determine the file manually.
3. Connect the DFU device

Firmware Update Disclaimer
Confirm the exact CAN device and hardware revision before selecting firmware. Different revisions may use different MCU pins, LEDs, bootloader arrangements, or other connections.
Do not disconnect USB power or interrupt programming during an update. Incorrect firmware or an interrupted update can leave the device nonfunctional and may require bootloader or programmer recovery.
Serial Flux does not manufacture the supported third-party CAN hardware. Firmware flashing and required driver, jumper, BOOT-pin, or hardware changes are performed at the user's discretion and risk.
